EINBLICK

INTERCULTURAL EDUCATION & EXCHANGE

“It was great trying to let them imagine how our country looks like, what our life is about. It’s special to be able to communicate with other young people in different countries. I learnt a lot about other cultures.”
(Ndumiso Ngubane, student in South Africa)

„This project is a highly competent and successful example of media education within the context of international and intercultural exchange.”

(Federal Agency for Civic Education (BpB), Germany)

‘EinBlick’ (InSight) is our trilateral intercontinental video exchange programme developed in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut as part of their worldwide school network PASCH. Its aim is to create a dynamic and growing platform that connects groups of students learning German and their schools. EinBlick promotes and enables an intercultural dialogue through the medium of film.

Since 2012, we have rolled out EinBlick in 17 countries on five continents.

To view all EinBlick films and follow what is currently happening please visit the project’s Blog and join the dialogue on it’s Facebook page.

In 2015 EinBlick received the Dieter Baacke Award, which is given for exemplary educational, social and cultural media projects by the Society for Media Education and Communication Culture and the German Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth.

An article we wrote about ‘EinBlick’ was published in a book on “Diversity in film and TV” edited by Ricart Brede/ Helmes from Europa-University Flensburg.

Glocal Films runs film and media projects that promote dialogue and exchange between groups of people from different countries, and of different ethnicity, religion, age and gender. We use film as a safe medium to express experiences and viewpoints. Our film exchange projects promote empathy and mutual understanding as a basis for community cohesion, integration and the celebration of diversity.
